For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Romans 1:26-27
The apostle Paul would emphasize later in this epistle that “no one is righteous, not one” (Roman 3:10-12). Simply put, this statement of Paul’s could not have been put any other way without falling short of the facts, which is necessary in the proclamation of the gospel. Essentially, these verses emphasize the reality of God’s wrath being poured out on those who worship the creature rather than the creator.
