Weekly Devotional - March 20th

Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible mankind, of birds, four-footed animals, and crawling creatures.

Romans 1:22-23

Once again, we see Paul illustrate our chief sin, we refuse to worship God as God. On top of that, we double down on our refusal, by replacing Him with something else. We no longer magnify the treasures of His grace and mercy, but magnify our own accomplishments, and glorify ourselves. We marvel in this exchange, and the re-making of God in our own image, because it feels good, and sounds good, but the exchange is useless, a bar of gold for a lump of coal. I encourage you strongly, do not replace God with something else, for the wisdom of man lacks all sense to Him.
