“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Romans 3:18

Embedded in Paul’s statement of “no fear” is the lack of a deep reverence for God among the pagan. Believers know that they are saved and that there is no condemnation for disciples of Christ. However, believers should also have and maintain a reverent fear of the holy, infinite power of God. Because it is in that fear that our common sense and judgment develop.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
