When we describe someone to another person, we typically highlight qualities of the person we are describing. We might use terms such as practical, cheerful, or focused.
We refer to these qualities as attributes, as they describe distinct features, or traits. By divine inspiration, God has revealed attributes of Himself in scripture.
As God can never be fully understood, He can however be known. Knowing God in the proper biblical context is similar to the parable from Jesus in Matthew 7, of the man whose house withstood many calamities because he had built it on a solid foundation.
If we were to pick a single attribute of God, which formed the center of His character, and an attribute from which all other attributes would flow, we could find no better revelation than His Holiness. The Holiness of God declares His complete and absolute purity and separateness from all of creation.
The reality of which is illustrated best in scripture through those who have been exposed to its perfection.
There has never been a more urgent time to return to scripture, and build our faith on solid ground, as scripture alone is sufficient for anyone to lead a life pleasing to God.
BRANDOFMAN; Season 1 – Episode 3 encourages us all to renew our minds in the knowledge of God, and reclaim a worldview for the cause of Christ. We will commit to knowing what we believe, and why we believe it, and to better know God as He has revealed Himself to the world.
