Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name.

Romans 1:5

Paul would later quote the prophet Joel in Romans 10, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” He would then follow this statement with a sequence of events that take place before one “calls on the name of the Lord.” He indicates, “to make such a call to the Lord one must first believe the good news of Jesus. To believe, one must have first heard the good news. To hear the good news, someone must have first spoken it. To speak good news from God, God must first send someone to speak it.” The bottom line here, when we believe in the Lord Jesus, we must then respond. Belief demands our obedience, and our obedience demands our belief.
